The Qarib program is a regional initiative designed to bring media closer to communities in Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine. Running from 2023 to mid-2026, the program aims to strengthen social cohesion and create spaces for meaningful dialogue between citizens, local authorities, and marginalized communities.
Qarib empowers journalists and media organizations by providing them with the tools and skills needed to tell impactful stories, engage diverse audiences, and build sustainable business models. Through hands-on training, mentoring sessions, and online learning platforms, MiCT offers tailored support to help Qarib network journalists amplify underrepresented voices, with a special focus on women and youth.
The program’s innovative approach includes thematic workshops, content awards, and local partnerships, extending its impact beyond traditional media development. By fostering independent, citizen-focused, and representative media, Qarib is creating lasting change across the region.
Qarib is funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and implemented by CFI, with contributions from local and regional partners.
