Digital political communication
Digital political communication in Sudan
Political Parties have to be in a constant dialogue in modern democracies, online as well as analog. A new joint project by MiCT and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) Khartoum aims at strengthening the acceptance of democratic parties and thus the acceptance of the democratic system in the overall population - in the run up to the 2021 elections.
Core of the a communication training for Sudanese parties is i.e. writing press releases, framing and priming, developing a social media strategy, in front of camera training, communicating in times of crisis, with shit storms. In addition, the project trains selected Sudanese journalists with regard to political communication, election programs, as well as election reporting - using an approach combining online and on-site trainings ('blended learning').
In 2021 FES and MiCT will also produce a new version of the Sudan “Electionnaire” - an application similar to the "election quizzes" that have been extremely successful in many countries. The project is funded by the German Federal Office of Foreign Affaires.
