IIn Yemen, a thriving youthful population seeks social change and peaceful coexistence. Through the Arabia Felix Magazines, readers will discover how many Yemenis are paving roads to coexistence every day. Through words, images and illustrations, we invite you to discover the possibilities of cooperation, peaceful coexistence, and imagination.
The first edition of the magazine, titled "In Every Valley, Make Yourself a Home", encourages us to find something familiar in every new place we visit. In this spirit of discovery, the Arabia Felix Magazine journalists take us on journeys through time and terrain. By forging an understanding with our neighbours, we can see a part of ourselves reflected in strangers. The possibility of making a home anywhere offers a chance to feel we truly belong wherever we land. In this spirit of discovery, the Arabia Felix Magazine journalists take us on journeys through time and terrain.
In the second edition, we explore enduring Yemeni figures from the past, and the way artists reimagine Arabia Felix, the ancient name for Yemen, in their work. Contributors share stories of celebration, creativity and communication with other cultures whose timeless intricacies offer inspiration for the present moment. Following in the footsteps of one of Yemen's most famous poets, Abdullah al-Baradouni, we discover the building blocks of coexistence in Yemeni cultures: In the land of Bilqis, melodies and chords weave a chant of coexistence.
The Arabia Felix Magazine, produced by MiCT, is part of the project “Peace Process Support Yemen” (PPSY) implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Five editions will be produced in the framework of the Arabia Felix Magazine, in Arabic and English, all offering constructive, solution-oriented journalism stories from Yemen.
