Coming this Spring: Exile Media Hub Greece

Exile Media Hub Greece is a project for people on the run who have a journalistic/media background and have had to flee their home countries due to persecution.
The program is specifically aimed at those who are stuck in reception centers and long asylum procedures in Greece after their arrival. Not only are they unable to continue their work, but they also struggle with often inhumane conditions and enforced inactivity.
We aim to support journalists and media professionals in Lesbos and Athens by:
Providing them with the opportunity to continue their profession, receive further education, and develop their skills
Offering direct access to platforms, networks, and professional connections
Breaking the cycle of hopelessness caused by prolonged displacement and bureaucratic procedures
What are the goals of the Exile Media Hub Greece?
The project aims to:
Transform the “waiting time” of arriving refugees into a period of education and skill development through workshops, bootcamps, and training programs. These will be led by experts, trainers specializing in journalism and media skills, translators, and psychological support teams, as well as access to resources such as laptops, cameras, tablets, etc.
Establish a skill-sharing platform that develops sustainably and independently, allowing refugees with media training to connect and support one another.
We need you!
This Spring we aim to launch the pilot phase of the project in Athens and Lesbos. We are still looking for support!
