We are humbled by the courage and resilience of journalists and Fellows who continue to tell the stories of Gaza under the most difficult and dangerous circumstances. With heavy hearts, they have reported on the loss of colleagues; a painful reminder that journalism matters.
Recent work by some of 2024 Fellows:
Fellow Feryal Abdo spoke with the mother of journalist Anas Al-Sharif, who described her son as “the hero of journalism in Gaza”, steadfast in his mission despite constant threats.
Fellow Amal Wadiah reported on the assassination journalist Hassan Isleeh, highlighting yet another loss in the relentless targeting of the press in Gaza.
Fellow Alaa El Helou reflected on how Gaza’s journalists carry forward their mission despite loss and danger.
Journalists should never be a target, for they carry the stories the world cannot afford to lose.
