MiCT Minsk: Belarus Election Reporting
On the occasion of Belarus’ presidential elections, MiCT’s Granitsa team headed to Minsk from October 9 – 11, 2015 to hold an election reporting workshop for journalists from all Eastern Partnership countries. After two days of theoretical input and comparing experiences and political situations in their countries, participants headed out to report live on the elections in Minsk. In cooperation with various Belarusian media outlets, they interviewed voters, candidates and protesters and produced a number of interesting features in the follow-up to the workshop. Reporting on the election process allowed for some interesting comparative analysis, insights, exchange and network-building between participants. Next on the list in the project is a workshop on frozen conflicts in the Caucasus in the Georgian capital Tbilisi, December 4-6, 2015.
